Audi R30 “Project Turing”
Human + Machine. An ordinary combination on the race track. In the tough 24 hours of Le Mans, 3 drivers and 1 car will race for a whole day, competing for the champion.
If there are more “machine” in the team. What will happen?
This concept design is based on a virtual rule in the future WEC: one of the human driver must be replaced by on-board computer and pre-installed AI program. Besides, AI also took the position of race engineers. Human drivers can only get necessary information and decision-making assistance from on board computers.
The AI Core is installed beside the driver. Audi’s AI Core was co-developed by Google, Deep Mind and nVidia.
To honor the AI program, its name is also painted as one of the drivers.
Besides the lidar and mmw, Lytro also provide the industry-leading optical field sensor and algorithm. With nVidia’s visual recognition program, the AI driver is a true “driver”.
The powerplant is electron reactor provided by Westinghouse.
